Meet Judy Alcorn
Judy Alcorn has sewn all of her adult life. In the beginning her talent showed itself in fashion design and construction. She has always been able to see the parts that it takes to make the whole.
While living in Ohio she partnered with a bridal / fabric store where she made wedding gowns and attendants dresses. She expanded the fabrics to include lingerie fabrics and taught classes in lingerie sewing as well as other sewing classes.
After moving to Georgia in 1982 Judy connected with a new neighbor who had a one person workroom.
She was soon handed the “difficult” designers. Her dressmaking skills and attention to detail set her apart from the normal functions of that first workroom.
The first few years Judy worked with individuals and designers. Business grew quickly and she had more clients than she could handle. She decided to give up her personal clients and work only for designers, thus she became Interior Designer Services offering wholesale workroom fabrication to designers only.
In 2005 Interior Designer Services had outgrown its home and moved to a 5200 square foot space to better serve its designers.
Today they have a full service workroom including the capability to make oversized draperies, top treatments, all types of bedding, custom headboards, covered tables, light upholstery and any other soft furnishings that a designer may spec. They also have in house quilting and embroidery. They also ship anywhere needed.
